Hallo,

unfortunately one of my PSTs became 1,6 Gig, and now I am not able to open
it with my Outlook (2003)

Right now I am copying the PST (just in case). Then I would try to run the
"SCANPST.EXE"

When I was looking in some forum on this issue, the answers were generally
disappointing (there is nothing that can be done...):-((

Does anyone have experience with the Microsoft Truncation Tool ??

Any other tips&tricks form me?

Please avoid Tipps like "keep you PSTs small":.. it happened, and I cannot
change now... I am already very angry with myself ... :-((( **sniff**

Is this pst file a pre unicode (OL2003) pst?
You can see the properties of the pst via the mail applet in the control
panel.
If it is a OL2003 unicode pst then it would appear to be a pure corruption
issue since a unicode pst does not have that size limitation.

Perhaps run scanpst.exe several times on the file.

sich bei der verwendeten pst-Datei um eine UNICODE-Datei handelt; diese
Format unterstützt pst-Dateien in der Größenordnung von 20 und mehr
Gigabyte. Außerdem: Die von Dir erwähnten 1,6 GB — sofern es sich um
eine pst-Datei im alten (ANSI-)Format handelt — sind normalerweise
seitens Outlook noch problemlos zu handeln. Erst ab ca. 1,8 GB wird es
erfahrungsgemäß kritisch.

I don't think pst19upg.exe has any bearing on this issue. It's not a PST
truncation fixer, as far as I can tell.
