Dear All: Just to be clear... I'm asking about the computer although there would be some that infer more into the question :-) I'm running 2 gig of ram with Intel duo core cpu. Task Manager shows 423meg being used with 1.6 gig of ram free Outlook 2003 being used. I have three new *.pst files created. I trying to move a email from the inbox in the personal folders to one of the other 3 *.pst files. However, the computer protests and send up the above warning ie out of memory. I've closed one of the new *.pst files and it runs OK. Any clues would be highly appreciated. Best Regards John A Hansen |

Some additional info from the KB files: 907651
Alternatively, you receive the following error message when you try to add these .pst files to your e-mail profile by using the Create or Open Outlook Data File dialog box in Outlook 2003: "Out of memory or system resources. Close some windows or programs and try again" NB: This is precisely my problem. . How to enable the hotfix Warning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk. 1. Quit Outlook 2003. 2. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK. 3. Locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\O utlook\PST 4. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value. 5. Type UseLegacyCacheSize, and then press ENTER. 6. Right-click UseLegacyCacheSize, and then click Modify. 7. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK. 8. On the File menu, click Exit to quit Registry Editor. The basic issue here on this Hotfix is that the subkey does not have a file "PST" available. Any suggestions ? Best Regards John A Hansen "John A Hansen" wrote in message . .. Dear All: Just to be clear...
