Hi,

Is there a way to open link from within Vista Mail and Outlook messages in
Firefox instead of IE7? I have FF already set as my default browser, but
Mail and Outlook still open links in IE. Is ther a reg hack for this if I
need to go that route?

Thanks,
Tom

No, it is set to default, and even if I try again, it says that it is
already the default browser, any other suggestions are welcome.

I have the same problem with FF.
I've also noticed this with multimedia extensions.
When I install WinAmp I told it to associate all multimedia files to
open with winamp.
It still opens with Media PLayer.

Something smells fishy to me.

What version of OL?
I have no problem with OL2003 and FFv1.5.09 (the default) though I'm not
using Vista

This really isn't an outlook question - it's controlled by the OS. Anyway,
what is the setting in the default programs applet in control panel - look
under the set access options.

Yes it is an Outlook question, as well as a Windows Mail question (which is
part of the OS). I have done all of your suggestions. Even if I choose
Firefox, it reverts back to using IE. IF I choose Non-Microsoft, it reverts
back, under Custom, I choose Firefox, it reverts back to "Use my current web
browser". Even if I go to setting defaults programs un "Protocols" for HTTP
and HTTPS, it only has IE in the list.

If it keeps reverting back to MS defaults, then there is something wrong in
the OS, not in Outlook. Outlook (and Vista mail) does not have any settings
which control which browser or application is used.

This is a bug in Firefox. I'm not sure if it is a problem for all,
but it is for quite a few.

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox...senotes/#vista
Firefox can not yet be set as the default browser on Vista.

It is planned to be fixed for 2.0.0.2
