Hi,
I don't know if this is the right group for this problem, but here goes . . . My Outlook 2k3 is creating precisely 4 copies of each and every email in only one of my "personal" folders. Actually, this is not quite true, additionally, exactly one of my contacts outside of the "problem" directory is now having the same problem (ie - I am having a problem with emails from him). Oddly enough, this one person is someone to whom I forwarded one of the emails from the problem directory, though I'd always received single copies of emails from him before doing this. So, I think there must be some sort of minor "bug" affecting Outlook. I really have no clue what it could be. I'm thinking of going back to the drawing board and either reinstalling Outlook or Eudora (though I've enjoyed using Outlook thusfar . . .). Thanks in advance for any and all replies!!! |

Oh, one more thing, I should mention that Outlook is correctly identifying
the number of emails it is retrieving from my email server in the progress bar, it is only when those emails appear in the problem directory that they are multiplied by four, so I don't think there's a problem server-end. I have only one account, and it is a pop3. I am using security pack 2.
Thanks! I should also mention that this is a personal email account and that I use a
5mbps cable modem to access the internet. "Kjartan" wrote: I have only one account, and it is a pop3. I am using security pack 2. Thanks! Then you should lengthen the server timeout value on the Advanced tab of your account properties, and also make sure you have a send/receive interval no less than about ten minutes. If those don't help, run Outlook once with the /safe command line switch. Also, if you leave copies of messages on the server, consider disabling that. -- Brian Tillman |

Hi
But why does everyone having this problem only have it NOW? Outlook XP has been running for several years with no similar problems. Has one of the recent MS Updates caused this? David PS Still having problems with anything from 1 msg to 12 being delivered. On Wed, 27 Dec 2006 13:21:58 -0500, "Brian Tillman" wrote: Kjartan wrote: I have only one account, and it is a pop3. Hi
After all that, it appears NOT to be the program or my PC. It's all down to the mailservers at ISP TalkTalk! Following a major outage a couple of weeks ago, TT are merrily delivering multiple copies of messages into inboxes of Outlook users. It appears that a marker on the message to d/l to an Inbox being read by Outlook is not being triggered. Although there is only one msg on the mail server users copies of Outlook cannot see that the msg has already bee d/l so d/l it endlessly. TT have promised to fox it and it does seem to be slowly ceasing. Thanks anyway David On Fri, 29 Dec 2006 16:10:28 -0500, "Brian Tillman" wrote: David Probett wrote: But why does everyone having this problem only have it NOW? Who knows?
