Default greek support in windows and emails - support du grec sous windows et dans le courrier electronique

For your information. Traduction francaise plus bas

ευχαριστώ : How to get the greek support in emails ?

NB. It is not because you can send to yourself emails showing greek
characters that sending the same mail over Internet you will preserve them.
It depends on settings of your individual mails (always check the menu
options if it is not set by default!) as explained below.

1°, Add the greek language in CP ( regional and language options, advanced,
then install various OEM greek and surely UFT8, but not iso and ebcdic).
Will ask the OS (XP) CDROM.

2°. Then in the mailing system (outlook, etc) configure the options (Format,
Encoding under Outlook Express) to support "Greek(windows)" instead of
Western european as now it is available.
Check it each time that you want to send greek alphabet or change your
defaults to Greek(windows).

It works for both msg sent in html and plain text (but only mime, not
uuencoded. The fact to code on 7 or 8 bits is not important).

NB. the header is not always displayed correctly in the messages listed on
screen but it appear correctly if you open the individual mail (or in
previous)

----

NB. to display simultaneously accentuated text like eeauouio
change the plain text format to html or rich text (no need of 8 bits header)
(I don't see a way to get in in text format. Any clue welcome)

eeauouo
