256986 (https://premier.microsoft.com/kb/256986/) Description of the Microsoft Windows registry
SUMMARY
This article describes how you can change the default setting for the number of appointment recurrences.
MORE INFORMATION
When you create a new calendar appointment and click the Recurrence button, the "Range of recurrence" defaults to "No end date." You can change the default to a number of days after which the default recurrence will end. When the user opens the recurrence dialog box, the end date will be the current date plus the number of days set. Warning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk.
Use the following steps to change the default recurrence: 1. Click Start, and click Run.
2. In the Open box, type regedit.
3. Locate the following key in the registry depending on the version of Microsoft Outlook that you are using:

For Microsoft Outlook 2000
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Ou tlook\Options\Calendar
For Microsoft Outlook 2002
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\O utlook\Options\Calendar
For Microsoft Office Outlook 2003
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\O utlook\Options\Calendar
4. On the Edit menu, point to New, click DWORD Value, and then add the following registry values: Value Name: RecurrencesDefault
Data Type: DWORD
Value: Type the Arabic number indicating the number of days from the current day.
5. Quit Registry Editor, and then restart Outlook for the changes to take effect.
