Got this strange computer not showing the Mail icon in the Control Panel.
I'm in Classic View, and Outlook is installed and in use for one profile
currently. I need to setup a second profile, but can't since I can't find
the Mail icon... !

Help!

TIA!!

Have you opened any Office files yet? Try opening a Word document and then go to see if the mail icon shows up.

What is the operating system? Is this a 64-bit system?

Sue,

Yes, this is a WinXP Pro 64-bit system. Does that mess it up??
Any fix in that case?

The Mail applet is a 32-bit applet, not a 64-bit applet. I don't have a Win XP x64 system running right now, but I know on Vista x64, it segregates the 32-bit applets into a separate category -- "View 32-bit Control Panel Items"

Ohh.. yeah.. that makes sense, just like the 'Computer Management' console,
which asks you if you want to open it for 32- or 64-bits mode.

Just it doesn't ask for that when you open the 'Control Panel'...
Wonder how you would be able to open it in 32-bits mode??
