Have you opened any Office files yet? Try opening a Word document and then go to see if the mail icon shows up.

What is the operating system? Is this a 64-bit system?

The Mail applet is a 32-bit applet, not a 64-bit applet. I don't have a Win XP x64 system running right now, but I know on Vista x64, it segregates the 32-bit applets into a separate category -- "View 32-bit Control Panel Items"

Ohh.. yeah.. that makes sense, just like the 'Computer Management' console,
which asks you if you want to open it for 32- or 64-bits mode. Just it doesn't ask for that when you open the 'Control Panel'... ![]() Wonder how you would be able to open it in 32-bits mode?? / Per "Sue Mosher [MVP-Outlook]" wrote in message ...
