Error Starting Outlook, Please Help!
I sure see a lot of questions on these pages, but no answers. Where are they?
Am I missing something? I'm having a problem with "could not be installed or loaded," too. How does one fix it in plain and simple terms? Everything was working fine until I discovered that my anti-virus program, Kaspersky was causing some problems, so I uninstalled it and installed a new program, PC-cillin. Now when I load Outlook 2003, I get the following errors (either one or the other, not both, usually the first one): Error #1: An extension failed to initialzie. Can't open file: extend.dat. The file may not exist, you may not have permission to open it, or it may be open in another program. RIght click the folder that contains the file, and then click Properties to check your permissions for the folder. Error #2: The add-in "C:Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Anit-Virus Personal..." could not be installed or loaded. This probelm may be resolved by using Detect and Repair on the Help Menu. I tried using detect and repair, but this didn't help. Does anyone have any other ideas on how I can fix this? My email still works after I click on the "OK" button, but I'd like to not have this darn thing always popping up all the time. |

Did you bother to look at the link that Vince supplied?
That tells how to fix the problem. There are no "simple" answers to this problem but that link provides the information needed to fix it. -- Ken Slovak [MVP - Outlook] http://www.slovaktech.com Author: Absolute Beginner's Guide to Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 Reminder Manager, Extended Reminders, Attachment Options http://www.slovaktech.com/products.htm "RickieD" wrote in message ...
