Hi guys,
My Outlook is downloading emails that already existed. For example, i download an email message now and after 5 mins later when I start Outlook again, the same email message will be downloaded once more! How do I resolve that? Thanks in advance. (Btw, I'm using Outlook 2003.) Regards Roger |

That way, your outlook will keep finding mail on the server... So check your settings at your providers. |

If you are using an AV and have it set to scan incoming and outgoing mail,
turn that option off. It is redundant and is most often the cause of multiple emails downloading. See also this article for assistance: Duplicate e-mail messages are downloaded from a POP3 e-mail server account in Outlook 2003: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/885870/en-us -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without reading. After furious head scratching, Roger Lek asked: | Hi guys, | My Outlook is downloading emails that already existed. Hope that sorts it for you. Peter Posting from Peter Rogers Replace NOSPAM with ntlworld to reply |

Well, I can't really do that. If I uncheck the "Leave a copy of messages on
server" checkbox, the copy of the email will be deleted from the server. This would pose another problem. For instance, if I want to check an email which I've previously accessed at home, from another location, say my office, I wouldn't be able to do so because that email would already have been deleted from the server. Any better alternatives? Roger "Peter Rogers" wrote in message ... "Roger Lek " wrote: Hi guys, My Outlook is downloading emails that already existed. Hi Milly,
The antivirus that I'm using doesn't support email scanning functions so I don't think that's the case. I've also installed Office 2003 Service pack 2 but that doesn't seems to help either. Is there any other problem that might have caused it? Thanks again. Roger "Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook]" wrote in message ...
