Default Can the Desktop Alert be sticky?

Hello All,
I have had more than on person ask me this he Can the pop-up Desktop Alert in
Outlook 2003 SP2 be made to stick around longer than the 30 second maximum
available in the standard settings?
(ToolOptionsE-mail OptionsAdvanced E-mail OptionsDesktop Alert Settings)
Everyone seems to miss the old alerts that hung around until you clicked the
"OK" button. What they want is to be away from the desk and have the alert
persist until they come back, which of course can be a lot longer than 30
seconds.
Thank You,
-plh

You can use rules to do this. Set the condition to "mail sent to me" and
have it persist.

After furious head scratching, plh asked:
