PLease HELP!
I installed outlook 2003 for the first time and then I ran it. It ask me to set-up a email account. I had many options and I thought I had to choose MS Exchange Server. After that is asked for MS E S and mailbox. I put www.hotmail.com and my email for the mailbox. Then it gave me an error that cannot connect. I click ok, cancel at no matter what I do I get the same message: unable to open your default e-mail folder. The file C:\Documents\....\Outlook\outlook.ost is not an offline folder file. And the it closes. I unintalled. After reinstalling I get the same message it's still looking for www.hotmail.com and my email address. It seems it saved it somewhere. |

I still have the same problem. It won't let me delete it. It say you cannot
delete your mail, ..... It says you have to create a new location for your personla data. From the file menu, click Data File Managment, and then click add. So I couldn't delete it because of this. I went and set-up a new email and made that the default, but when I run outlook I get the same error as before "Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook]" wrote: Control panel-mail icon-profiles-delete. Hotmail accounts are HTTP accounts and you can only access one if it's a Hotmail Plus or Hotmail Premium account. A free Hotmail account probably won't work. -- Brian Tillman |
