Default How to reduce size of events banner in Calendar?

This is driving me crazy...

Is there a way to reduce the size of the events banner in Outlook Calendar? It is taking up a large amount of vertical space on screen (see attached screenshot). Is it possible remove altogether?

TIA,
Greg
