Default Creating a rule to redirect email

I am trying to create a server side rule that redirects email (removes from my Inbox) to another email address. While I'm able to create a rule using "redirect", the email that is redirected stays in my Inbox. Is it possible to create a server side rule that would actually redirect it to another email address and in doing so remove the redirected email from my inbox? I've tried many combinations with no luck. thanks!
