Default 2007 unicode error on 5.86G pst

Trying to archive and I get a unicode error message. Tried to manually and automatically create an archive with no luck. Also tried to create a pst on another computer and copy it to that computer and it still gives a unicode error message. Is it because outlook.pst is 5.86G? Can I shutdown his outlook and copy his outlook.pst to another computer and open it to try and run am archive? His email reads and sends english and chinese email just fine.
