Changing data file

Good evening. I've recently moved and changed my email address in Ourlook 2010. In Account Settings/email tab, I've got my new email address set as the default, and my old email address is removed. I go to the Data Files tab, and my old email address data file is set as default, and it won't allow me to set my new email address as default (i.e., when I select my new email address, the 'Set as Default' option greys out). I tried to simply delete the old email data file (after copying the file to a temp location, just in case), but I got a message stating that I can't delete it because it is associated with a mail account, and to delete it I'm supposed to go to the Email tab...which I've already done.

I want to get rid of this account, because when I open Outlook, it opens my old Inbox folder as default. Also, even when I select my new email account, when I go to send a new email, it wants to send from my old email account as default...even though I have my new email account set as default.

How do I purge the old data file and account and get Outlook to work the same way with my new email address? Thanks for any advice.

Frank
