Default send on behalf

Could someone please tell when a message is received when sent from a send
as or sent on behalf what the difference is to the recipient please "how can
she tell". Its just that i am testing and am replying to a message sent to
bill which was forwarded to mark and who has SOB i reply and put in from
feild Bill and Gary who originally sent message recieves it from Bill "but
it was sent from mark" i would have thought this is how send as should work.
How can recipient tell it was sent on behalf.

Default send on behalf

If it was sent with Send on Behalf Of permission, it will say From UserA On Behalf Of UserB.

If it was sent with Send As permission, it will say From UserB, with no indication that UserA was ever involved.

That makes sense and is how i imagined it should work, must be something
wrong in my lab as it does not display on behalf.

If it doesn't display Send On Behalf Of, then the logical conclusion is that the Send As permission (which prevails) is present.
