xp pro, outlook 2k3
using sbs2k3 server side and integrated fax services - when client opens a fax attachment receives an error that outlook could not open the file, if saving to disk outlook reports that it cannot create the file and to check permissions. Other PC's have no issues. if outlook is run in outlook /safe mode everything works perfectly. i've tried going in normal mode and disabling addin manager and com addins yet obtain the same error results. Has anyone come across this? |

Most likely not a fax problem. More likely an Outlook Secure Temp Folder
problem. With Outlook closed, click StartRun and enter %TEMP% in the Open field. Click OK. You should see a Windows Explorer window with the folder list in the left-hand pane. (If you don't see the folder list in Windows XP, click the Folders button in the toolbar.) Just below the folder named Temp you should see one called Temporary Internet Files. Click the plus sign to its left. You should then see a subfolder whose name starts with OLK. Select this folder so that it's contents display in the right-hand pane. Click EditSelect All and then click the Delete button (or press Delete or click FileDelete). Close the Explorer window and restart Outlook. Your attachment should open now. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Inline Service Department" wrote in message ... xp pro, outlook 2k3 using sbs2k3 server side and integrated fax services - when client opens a fax attachment receives an error that outlook could not open the file, if saving to disk outlook reports that it cannot create the file and to check permissions.
