How to export outlook express emails' rule?
Moving the rules and will require going into the Registry.
Log in to the old user. Start the Registry editor. Navigate to this key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{long string of numbers and letters} \Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0\Rules] Left click on Rules. File, Export Name the export oldrules.reg. Log in to the new user. Start the Registry editor. Navigate to this key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{long string of numbers and letters} \Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0\Rules] Left click on Rules. File, Export Name the export newrules.reg. Open Notepad. File, Open Open oldrules.reg Open another Notepad. File, Open Open newrules.reg Oldrules.reg will have the rules. The newrules.reg will have the correct location for the new Identity's rules. Go to the Notepad with newrules.reg. Highlight and copy {long string of numbers and letters} Go to the Notepad with oldrules.reg. Edit, Replace Paste {long string of numbers and letters} in the replace with box. Highlight and copy {long string of numbers and letters} from oldrules.reg Paste {long string of numbers and letters} in the Find what box. Its best to delete the old rules in the Registry prior to importing the new
rules so things don't get confused. The other situation is that the names of the folders are not stored in the registry, but in folders.dbx, so there may be issues when doing such. steve "Ron Sommer" wrote in message ...
