get at the laptop right now to check it. Sorry.

I have Synaptics Touchpad v5.9 (7.12.3.0) installed on this Gateway
laptop. And when I open a post in its own window, the touchpad
scroll works fine. Although my five Asus EeePC which use a newer
version Synaptics Driver v6.3 will not scroll the window from the
touchpad. Also just tried the newest version and that one doesn't
work either. If I use a mouse, that scroll anyway works. So has
anybody else seen this behavior from Synaptics Drivers and OE6?

No problems with it here, but have a later driver via updates a few
years back. Maybe try redownloading the driver and install it again?

HTH,

Twayne`

Hmmm... what kind of CPU and chipset do you have? I have Celerons all
the way around and Intel 915 chipsets.

Well after not having the touchpad scroll feature not working for OE6
messages for over a year on my 5 netbooks. I finally got out my
Gateway Recovery disc out and found the older Synaptics Touchpad v5.9
(7.12.3.0) driver deep in layers of folders. Installed it on one of
my netbooks and now OE6 scrolls with the touchpad. Now to install it
on 4 more netbooks. Sad they throw a newer driver with those netbooks
that doesn't even work, eh? Thank goodness for older drivers. vbg

I rarely use Firefox, so I just discovered this. But FF doesn't work
with the scroll pad on the Synaptics Touchpad. I usually use a mouse so
it is okay there. I'll try the newest version of the driver on a spare
hard drive and see if that helps. But I seriously doubt it.
