How to set OE as mailer for Guest account?
 

I am use Win XP SP3 with Office 2003.

How can I set OE as the mail program for the Guest account, which does not
have administrator privileges?

I go into IE Internet Options Programs, select OE for E-Mail, then click
OK.

But when I re-enter IE Internet Options Programs, E-Mail has reverted to
Outlook.

I presume that is the reason why I cannot forward NG postings from OE. I
get the Microsoft Office Outlook error "no profiles have been created".

I have tried configure IE Internet Options Programs when do no other
programs are running, notably OE.

If non-administrator Guest is not permitted to make such a change, how can
someone do this for Guest from an user account that does have administrator
privilege?

There are several default settings that apply to all Windows users. The
default mail client is one setting that applies to all Windows users.

On another computer, I had no problem changing the mail client from Outlook
to OE for the Guest account.

At least, I ass-u-me the original default mail client was Outlook. Is there
any way that I can prove that to myself without creating a new account and
seeing what the mail client is?

Both computers have Win XP SP3 and Office 2003.
