Default OE launches Identity login on boot-up

You /do/ mean an identity logon password and not your OE logon password,
correct? IOW, File | Identities | Manage Identities | Properties. You chose
to password protect the identity?

The OE logon password it the one you entered in Tools | Accounts | Mail |
Properties | Servers.

Thanks for the quick response. I didn't get very far. when I right
clicked
on the minimized login the 'move' option is grayed out. I can't select
it.
Now what?

"Bruce Hagen" wrote:

Start by getting it off the Taskbar and go from there.

Right click on the minimized logon tab on the Taskbar and select Move.
Now
use the arrow keys to get it in the screen. Close all other windows
except
this one and use the cursor to drag it to a desired size. (if
necessary),
then File | Exit. Reboot and see if that part is resolved.

I'm in the process of setting up a brand new Dell mini net book.
It's
running
XP and I'm using OE 6.

I have two other machines that all use Outlook Exp and I copied over
my
identities from one of those machines. I also went into OE on the
new
machine and compared every setting side-by-side to my existing
machine,
all
settings are identical.

When I boot up the mini, the OE identity Login box appears minimuzed
on
the
task bar. When I open it and select the ID and enter the password,
nothing
happens. If I then click on the desktop shortcut for OE, the
program
launches and opens the identiy I selected on the login dialog box.

From then on, the Identity Login dialog doesn't appear down there
again
until I reboot.

any idea?

Exactly what did you "copy over" and how did you do it?

We are going to need a little insight from someone else. I have never had
the need to password protect an identity so some of this is unfamiliar
territory for me.

Default OE launches Identity login on boot-up

Hi
I mean I exported the identiy to a mail back up folder that I created then
imported into OE. I then checked all settings by comparing the settings on
the machine I copied from and the target machine

How did you export the Identity?
Did you also export the Registry settings?
