Find: how to go to thread containing NG message in Find results?

Add Watch/Ignore to Find as Ron suggested.

Aha! By default, the Flag column is not displayed. I discovered I can
add the Flag column by right-clicking on the title line of the message
pane.

Moreover, if the flag is set on a response, it does not appear unless the
thread (grouped messages) is expanded. Since I don't know what thread to
expand a priori (klunk!), I need to set "Automatically expand grouped
messages" under Tools Options Read, not my normal mode of operation.

When you find the reply you are interested in, look at the complete
subject and then search that. You can also flag the reply and it will be
flagged in the newsgroup.
