I've have been using my Windows XP Home machine for several years and I have
upgraded from SP2 to SP3 last year. No problem has been encountered until several months ago, a series of "dings" sound was heard after using the PC for a long while. Recently, I've nailed down the problem to OE6 because once I shut down OE6, the annoying sound would no longer be heard. A "ding" sound would be heard when a message box is popped up on the screen, but I don't see any message box on the screen only after I have closed OE6. It asked me whether I want to compress the mailboxes. I did compress my mailboxes (about 30) quite frequently already. Also, is there any permanent way of suppressing that particular message box popping up on the screen? Please help. Jimmy Ho |
