Compact All Folders - automated setting far less than 100
You also back-up your message stores on a very regular basis! eg

I have to be careful about saying this... :-) ...but I don't seem to have had many problems of disappearing boxes (my inbox has wholly or partly disappeared). I do compact manually and sometimes I break up my Inbox into smaller chunks so that I can compact all, instead of selected boxes. I have noted all the advice given here (and follow some of it) and am now much more aware of 'how OE works'. Cheers.
