imported email from old profile, but newsgroups didn't import
I had a corrupted profile so I had to set up a new profile, then discovered
a backup identity and I tried to import all my old emails, email folders, and newsgroups and newgroup folders. Only the emails and email folders came through. I especially want to bring back the newsgroup data because I had alot of messages marked as "watched", my way of saving them. Should the newsgroup data have imported at the same time as the emails did? Could they have been saved in a different place in the identity. I'd appreciate some help with this. John |

Newsgroup data is not included in import because MS has never considered it
important that you should be able to retain the files you download. The only way to include newsgroups is to do a full clone backup and restore, as described he http://insideoe.com/backup/clone.htm Since your old Identity is corrupt and since you probably didn't do a clone backup beforehand, there is now no way to import those newsgroup messages. You'll have to download them all over again and mark them as you already did. Microsoft does not care about you losing your user data! Never forget that. -- Tom Koch Awareness is free. http://tomsterdam.com http://insideoe.com "jbclem" wrote in message ... When jbclem wrote 'profile', I thought Windows user profile.
If it was the Windows user that was corrupted, the OE Identity may or may not have been corrupted. -- Ronald Sommer "Tom Koch" wrote in message ... The way to save newsgroup posts is to create an OE folder and copy messages
to that folder. Or drag the post to a Windows folder. -- Ronald Sommer "jbclem" wrote in message ...
