All real work on OE stopped some time ago. There may be security patches
from time to time.

Your message headers say no:

X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2900.3138
X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2900.3350

No version of OE will ever see any improvements. Yours will get security
updates until April, 2010. If you upgrade to SP3. you will get security
updates until XP/SP3 supports in April, 2014.

You /may/ want to try Windows Live Mail, (WLM or WLMail).
