Sent messages no longer saved!
"Spiker" wrote in message . uk... Help! I have just noticed that Outlook Express is no longer saving my sent messages. I have compacted all folders and deleted a number of messages but it is still not saving them. Please can someone help? Thanks Sam The setting is at OEtoolsoptionssend tab. The Sent Items folder might be corrupt? Move all messages that you wish to retain, into a folder that you create. Close OE. You need to then find the file "Sent Items.dbx" and delete it, (In Windows XP, the Outlook Express files, including .wab and .dbx files, are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Explorer, you must enable Show Hidden Files and Folders under StartControl PanelFolder OptionsView). OE will create a new Sent Items folder when you open OE, move your messages back to it. If you have a lot of saved messages move them to created folders for storage. Never store mail in the default folders, Inbox, Sent, Drafts, this causes the type of problem that you are now seeing. When you are OK again you need to compact your message store! Select Outlook Express at the top of the folder treethen OEfilework offline. Then Filefoldercompact all folders. Do not touch your machine until it finishes. HTH? -- Regards Steve. MS-MVP. OE.
