Hi!

This is my first time on Google groups

My friend has been facing a strange problem... he uses Outlook Express,
and for the past few days, everytime he deletes mails (from Deleted
Items) from a particualr sender, that sender immediately gets a message
notifying him that my friend has deleted his messages dated so-n-so.
The sender is using MS Outlook.

What do you think might be the problem here? Some worm or virus? Any
kind of help would be appreciated.

This is an option in Outlook - and your friend has not enforced the 'tell me
before you do anything' rules in OE....

Tools | Options | Receipts - pick your preferred options there

This isn't a Google group. This is an MSFT help group on their NNTP server!
The fact that Google Groups carries it doesn't change this.

It sounds like he has MS Outlook Express configured to send "Read
Receipts". One of the first things I do when setting up an email client is
to make sure this feature is disabled. Tool Options Receipts. Select
"Never send a read receipt". Or, if you _must_ use it, select "Nofity me
for each read receipt requested".
