If you thought it was only for one email I can understand why you rolled your
eyes at my reformatting the hard drive. It was not only one email, it was
every email that had a company header or HTML format. With everything else
disappearing it concerned me. I would not have reformatted just for one
email, I would have put up with only one. My computer is now back to normal
and I would really like to thank you again. I just hope this issue does not
come up again.

If you have difficulty viewing this email, please cut and paste this link

A screen capture of a web page won't help in diagnosing what is wrong
inside your e-mail client. Are they actually sending you a web page to
read in their e-mail? There is a lot of a web page that an e-mail
client won't render correctly. E-mail clients are designed to render
e-mails, not behave with the full functionality of a web browser.

None of that is of any value. What you show is just the copy-n-paste of
what you see, not what is in the HTML coding for the e-mail. That is
why I said to use Ctrl+F3 to see the raw source of the HTML-formatted
e-mails and show THAT.
I am running Messenger but I have no idea where to check to eliminate OE

You'll have to dig through the configuration screens under Tools -
Options. I don't use any of those prattle clients but do know there is
an option within OE to disable its integration with them. Just walk
through the various tabs in the Options looking for a "messenger"
option. Otherwise, see what others mention about disabling it in OE
with a Google search:

I just looked in OE using its own included help to search on
"messenger". They tell you how to disable it.

You never mentioned if the problem is prevalent across all
HTML-formatted e-mails that include images or just this one sender.
From another of your posts, apparently you chose to reformat your drive
(and reinstall the OS and all apps) and did so apparently for just ONE
sender's e-mail (rolls eyes). You said that everytime you open an
e-mail "from a company" which makes it appear that you are having
problems with e-mails from ONE company.

I am not very computer literate so please be patient. I am running

My problem is that every time I try to open an email from a company
which
displays a company logo or letterhead it takes around 5 minutes to
open.
Sometimes Outlook tells me it is not responding and I get a blank white
screen. This happens even when I try to delete that email. My
internet is
also running slow and I am using Broadband.

I would appreciate it if anyone could assist me and if you could make
your
instructions simple to follow. Thanks

Try enabling the "Block images and other external content" security
option in OE. The signature probably contains a link back to an image
on the sender's file server. The e-mail client has to retrieve a copy
of it each time it renders the HTML-formatted e-mail. If their server
is slow then so, too, is the rendering of the e-mail as the e-mail
client has to wait for that external content to arrive. You should have
this security option enabled, anyway, since it eliminates spam or other
e-mail that inserts web beacons into an HTML-formatted e-mail to
determine if that e-mail was opened. Alternatively, you can configure
OE to always read e-mails in plain text format. Any HTML-formatted
e-mails which be stripped of their HTML coding and you will only see a
text version of the e-mail. Links don't work in plain-text format mode
so no external content will get yanked to show that e-mail.

If you installed MSN/Live Messenger (and do use it), disable the option
to automatically connect to the messenger service. It causes a delay to
lookup the status of anyone on your buddies list.
