Default How do I change my "From" address

Tools | Accounts | News | Properties. Make the change in the E-mail Address
field.

The same applies for Tools | Accounts | Properties | Mail, but no one will
be able to reply using the Reply function. Good if your intention is to send
spam!

Now that I think of it, if you do this for E-mail, you probably won't be
able to send.

Brain Fade. You can change it for e-mail and send, but Reply will not work,
so SPAM AWAY.

With many ISPs Send won't work either.

That would actually depend upon the email address used. A fake address
would obviously not work for a reply, but using a free web account in place
of your ISP email account would work.

There is no ' email address, though it takes a 'pacbell.net'

Here are the headers from a reply to the message of Exhibit A. There are no
AT&T Yahoo! HSI domain names in this message at all; not 'pacbell.net', not
'prodigy.net', not in any of the email addresses. Yet the forwarded message
did originate from an AT&T Yahoo! HSI account (and was, actually, forwarded
through an AT&T dial-up leased POP with Level 3).

There is nothing nefarious about doing this. There are good reasons to do
this. The convenience of using the mail client, in conjunction with the ISP
mail servers, without exposing the ISP email address to a party who doesn't
need it. In this day and age of merchants selling email addresses, this is
a rational step in protecting a private email address from spammers.

You all have your "names" (not e-mail address') listed under From in the
reader...how can I have mine listed without showing my e-mail address.

Tools Accounts. Select "News", or "Mail".

Select the account (if more than one is listed), and click the
"Properties"
button. Edit the "E-mail address:" field on the "General" tab.

Double click the account.
Put what you want us to see in the Name field.
If your news server will allow it, put lid in the
Email field.
