Hello All,

I unfortunately had to re-install the WindowsXP operating system but it was
not a re-format. My intention was to save all my documents, emails, etc.

However, at first it appeared that I'd lost all my emails and many of the
downloaded files, software, etc. But then I realized that the operating
system had opened an identity called 'Administrator', and I was being logged
onto that identity. My old identity 'Dan', is still there, but I'm being
logged on as 'Administrator'. So I have found all my valuable emails in:
C:\Documents and Settings\DAN\Local Settings\Application
Data\Identities\{4C7AABBC-F298-4675-9607-6DA97C29A5D2}\Microsoft\Outlook
Express

But I just don't know how to safely move them to where Outlook Express will
give me access to them. Oh, and I also had to set up my email accounts
again after the re-install, but they are set up the same as previously.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

That article looks like it might help a lot. But I'm not really upgrading
to XP, I already had XP. Do you think that article will still provide the
correct guidance? I suspect it will, but would like your opinion. I have
indeed located all the old .dbx files that I would like to access. Thanks

to recover OE data after a new identity has been created.

Thanks a million Kuay! I tried it with only one folder and all messages
that were inside it. It worked! I didn't quite get it in the spot I
wanted, but now I see how to correct that. With a little bit of practice,
I'm sure I'll be able to get all these messages where I want them. I can't
thank you enough.
