Yahoo Plus Mail Authorization Problems
Attempts to use Yahoo Plus Mail's Address Guard Option has resulted in
authorization problems. Can any suggest fixes? Yahoo has suggested, among other actions, is to uninstall and reinstall Outlook Express. How is this done, without losing setting and contacts? |

Activate POP3 access there or it won't work. I'm surprised Yahoo didn't tell you that. Alias -- Use the Reply to Sender feature of your news reader program to email me. Yahoo Plus Mail Authorization Problems
Dear Alias,
That which you suggested has been accomplished. As I mentioned, the problems lie in the attempted use of Yahoo Plus Mail's Address Guard Option. This has caused authorization problems. I have used Yahoo Mail and Plus Mail now for around eight years. It is only after the attempts to use the Address Guard Option that I have experienced problems. Thank you "Alias" wrote in message ... AFAIK, an AddressGuard email address is an alias to a Yahoo! Mail Plus account, and can't be used to log in to that account. You have to use either the account email user name, or a Yahoo! Profile ID associated with that Yahoo! Mail Plus account for logging in. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |

I just ran a test; the send did not fail, but Yahoo! and Netscape have delivery delays, so I won't see the result for, maybe, a couple of hours. I thought that AddressGuard IDs did not work as log in names, but this one did work. I will post the headers when it comes through. I can only suggest that you either have a typo in the AddressGuard email address, or are not using the full user name, or have a damaged MSOE Identity. For the first, triple check the spelling. For the second, use the whole shebang, up to the "@" symbol: 'tsudohnimu-msft385632', not just the "base name". For the third, create a new MS Outlook Express Identity, set it up, and test it. If it works, import the messages from the old Identity. BTW, that email address is a valid email address; at least until the viruses and spammers scarf it up from this post! -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |

Yep. SBC Yahoo! DSL customers use Yahoo! mail servers; it is part of the ISP service. Yahoo! Mail Plus features. Resetting MSOE to use the POP3 login, and setting the login user name to an AddressGuard email address, , or just the user name, 'tsudohnimu-msft385632', and I get a log in failure. More like, MSOE pops up a password prompt, a windows labeled, "Logon - Yahoo! Service". I can't get past it. Change it to my SBC Yahoo! DSL Service primary account email address, and I get in. Change it to a Yahoo!
