I cannot open email folders stored as .DBX, neither from the email store or
the CD drive. It is my primary aim to use, as a new tactic, to compact the IN-BOX and clear it, so that I can have the massive loads I get out of the way, on disc. In the future, I may store them on an external driver accessable remotely, HOWEVER, as to thbae now: Having compacted the IN Box and found that it - unexpectedly - was then cleared! I proceeded quickly to back up the .dbx folder FROM the store ("OUTLOOK STACK" by name here) TO the cd drive. BUT - I cannot get OUTLOOK to open the files. It is to be regretted that, as far as I know, there is no way to stack emails as individual files without the time-consuming process of doing a Save As routine on each one. It is beyong belief that OUTLOOK is incapable of neither "drag and drop" transfers nor the native batch transfers which ibm formats are so good at. AS TO THE FOLDERS: Please can anyone tell me why the .dbx folders will NOT open? -Bluey |
