Default adding sound to background

I created a small .gif animation and sent it with OE and a song inserted in
the background. Went to FormatBackground and insert sound. When I sent it
to myself it came in as both, even though I received a warning that one or
more images could not be found. But when I sent the email to two other
people the same way, they only received the animation and not the sound.
What did I do wrong? One recipient is running Thunderbird and did not
receive the sound. Thank you, Steve T.

Bruce, is the problem that I am trying to insert an entire song? Too large?
wav file is 7MB but I can convert to mp3, less than 3MB, or should I just
copy a small portion? Thanks, Steve T.

7MB is a decent size. That well may be the problem. About 33% is added for
encoding as well and it ends up larger. Does this wav file have vocal?
Instrumental wavs are relatively small.

As far as a MP3, that would have to be attached. OE doesn't recognize tem
for background.

Yes it has vocal. It is the song by the Blues Brothers. If I attach the
animation and mp3 song, will they automatically start playing together when
opened? Thanks, Steve T.

They will be separate attachments. If you could settle for an instrumental
midi, that would play in the background of an e-mail.

Thanks Bruce. I think I'll just use Windows own Sound Recorder app to record
and save the portion I need. Are you saying that a wav file with vocals will
not work as background? Thanks again, Steve T.

Default adding sound to background

A wav file with vocals /may/ work, it just may be a size issue.

I have never gone this route, but you may be able to create what you want
and upload it to a downloadable link, rather than a normal e-mail.
