OE not holding setting to put outgoing email addresses in Address Book
This has been going on for about 2 months, and I suspect it really a XP Pro problem (IE 6, SR 2+++). I've also found my folders disappeared at random, and once I re-set my View, Saving it didn't "take," until I shut down for about 20 minutes (Re-Start didn't help). As I said, I suspect an IE problem but MS repeatedly contacts me by phone, disconnects, takes another week to contact me back, et al. I'm weary...wish we had service where we purchase the software--at least the same country.

Settings don't hold = One or more options/settings in an ever-growing
number of third-party applications may be disallowing the change(s) from "sticking". These include but are not limited to Ad-aware's Ad-Watch, Spybot Tea Timer, SpywareBlaster, SpySweeper, Spyware Doctor, Norton AntiVirus, McAfee VirusScan and/or Antispyware, and Zone Alarm (Free and Pro). that's all been done...but thank you. I also now use OneCare only, double
check with monthly with Ad-Aware but know its basically a malwear in itself... grrrr, and have Windows Firewall on at the top most restrictive. thank you for the links though. I'm going to double check these. "PA Bear" wrote in message ... ...and have Windows Firewall on at the top most restrictive. OneCare includes its own firewall so you shouldn't have the Windows Firewall enabled, Pappion. If you had a Norton, McAfee, or Trend Micro application installed and uninstalled it before installing OneCare, you may need to run a removal tool to remove all traces of the earlier product. See this page: http://www.eset.com/download/av-uninstallers.php OT but related: Pappion, I know that you've had numereous problems with this machine in recent months. Your descriptions of some of these problems make me question the security of the machine. I know how much you depend on this machine, and this isn't something to dally around with anymore. Once again and with all due respect, I strongly recommend taking the machine to a local, reputable, and independent (not BigBoxStoreUSA) shop. I think it needs a good going-over by a sighted and experienced tech. Don't be surprised if the tech recommends a format & reinstall. Best of luck. -- ~PA Bear Pappion wrote: that's all been done...but thank you.
