For some reason no matter what rules I create, news or e-mail, they are nto
saved. Any ideas what the problem is?

You could have a corrupt OE identity?

It could though be just the Rules Registry key causing the problem?

Close OE.

Go to StartRunand type regeditoknavigate to this key and delete it,
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{guid}\Software\Micro soft\Outlook
Express\5.0\Rulesreboot may be needed?

If you have more than one identity set up, check for the one concerned by
going to toolsoptionsmaintenancestore folder, the {guid} is at the end.

Reopen OE, a new "clean" (all rules will be lost), registry entry will be
created!! Now try to create a new rule.

You edit the registry at your own risk, if not sure, then get someone
competent to do it for you.

OK great, thanks, that fixed it for the time being. I haven't rebooted but
I'll see what happens and get back if the problem recurs.
