Pesky message to compact

OE6 under Win XP / IE6:

I would like OE to stop spontaneously asking if I would like it to compact
messages. I do that at appropriate times and don't want OE to nag me. Can
someone tell me how to stop the nagging?

Bobbi

If you do it manually before 100 closings of OE, it will set the counter
back to zero and you won't see the prompt for another 100 closings.

The nag happens every 100th time you close MSOE. But I thought that
manually
compacting sooner reset the counter, so I am at a loss to know what to do.

It does, but once it has been closed enough times to ask it won't stop
asking until the folders are compacted.

So there's no way to turn it off permanently?

Compact all folders on a regular basis manually and you'll never see
Automatic Compacting.
