I'm using a new laptop, and I am unable to set my message rules properly! i
am doing them the way I always had in the past, and they are just not working, they are still coming into my inbox, any ideas what the problem could be. thanks |

I couldn't say without you stating how the rules are set up and what you are
trying to accomplish. In general: Have all rules that divert mail to folders first. Delete it from server next. All others last. Make sure that every rule also has Stop processing more rules checked, unless that option is grayed out. Where you say that you are a member of a "newsgroup", I suspect that you
mean mailing list. A newsgroup is something entirely different. Your post here is in a newsgroup. In the subject, is the "ford focus fans" something inserted automatically by the mail list? OE is very literal minded. The subject must match Exactly what you have including any spaces or punctuation (capitalization doesn't matter). So if you rule says ford focus fans Then the following subject would match [Ford Focus Fans] new blue car But these wouldn't: ford-focus fans ford focus fans Also, the rules only work with POP3 accounts, not with HTTP (Hotmail/MSN) or IMAP. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "sheila 2" wrote in message k... I had never heard of that before! |
