Laptop loading Internet pages Slowly
The problem I am having is that my laptop (running XP home edition) has started loading internet pages slowly. This is weird because it wasn't doing this before. Furthermore, my desktop (running XP Professional) is doing just fine in terms of page loading speed. The desktop has the wireless receiver attached to it. But the laptop is running the internet off the home network. What gives?

Not really enough information for the wise ones (not me the ones who have a
vague idea what they are doing) to reply, but many if not most slowdowns are malware related, your pc might be loading huge amounts of data and sending heaps of mail, without your assistance, so the perception is slowdown -- - Adaware http://www.lavasoft.de spybot http://www.safer-networking.org AVG free antivirus http://free.grisoft.com/ Etrust/Vet/CA.online Antivirus scan http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/virusinfo/scan.aspx Super Antispyware http://www.superantispyware.com/ Panda online AntiVirus scan http://www.activescan.com Panda online AntiSpyware Scan http://www.pandasoftware.com/virus_info/spyware/test/ Catalog of removal tools (1) http://www.pandasoftware.com/download/utilities/ Catalog of removal tools (2) http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/n...aspx?CID=40387 Trouble Shooting guide to Windows http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/ Blocking Unwanted Parasites with a Hosts file http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm Cool Web Shredder http://www.trendmicro.com/cwshredder/ links provided as a courtesy, read all instructions on the pages before use Grateful thanks to the authors/webmasters _ "DARREN MOORE" wrote in message ... If you did not have a question directed to a Microsoft newsgroup, please tell your superiors that they are misusing this site. If you do have a legitimate question, then you should be asking this one in an Internet Explorer newsgroup, and not an Outlook Express newsgroup.
