Default OE address book - can't find it.

A user's 2000 Pro computer failed. Can't repair 2K Pro operating system.

I have been able to slave the hard drive from the problem computer to
another machine and copy the hard drive.

I can't find the Outlook Express address book file much less save it in a
format that can be loaded onto the new computer.

How do I get the Outlook Express address book off the copied hard drive and
import it onto the new user computer?

Thanks, Steve

Hi Steve,

As Ron pointed out, Outlook Express uses the Windows Address Book (default)
file (user name.wab). E-mail as an attachment or otherwise transfer the file
using portable means, then save it to the new desktop. Point to this file
when importing the address book

OE address book is Windows Address Book (press "Start" button, select
"Programs | Accessories | Address Book"). Windows Address Book files
has .wab, .wa~ and ~ extensions. Path to Windows Address Book you can
discover by use Address Book Recovery, see page 'Address Book recover
tool' (http://www.oemailrecovery.com/addres...recovery.html).
