default out going mail
I have my regular account I use from my isp and I use hotmail too...
My isp is my default... Often when I respond to an email sent to me through my isp account the new message going out has the "from" tab at hotmail... which I don't want to happen... so I have to make sure I catch it and use the drop down menu and change it.. so why is this happening and how do I stop it... sometimes I do want to send through hotmail... but usually not ???? |
default out going mail
Hello,
Outlook Express keeps track of the account name from which the mail is downloaded from. So when you reply to a mail downloaded from the hotmail account, it will default to hotmail from field. Similarly, when you reply to a mail downloaded from the ISP account, it will default to the ISP from field. As for ways around it, somebody else will have to advise us here. -- Singapore Web Design http://www.bootstrike.com/Webdesign/ Singapore Web Hosting "dwolf" wrote in message ... default out going mail
Figured something out... I bought a new pc and imported all of my mail...
I'm using the exact same settings and accounts as before... Seems the items that were in my old inbox and imported are the ones defaulting to Hotmail as outgoing... why ?? But as soon as all of those messages are gone, I think I won't be having this problem.. All new mail goes out correct "dwolf" wrote in message ... Yes and my point is... For the imported messages, OE doesn't know what account was used to
download them, so it doesn't know which one to use for replies. In View, Columns, you can add an Account column to the Inbox. That will tell you what account downloaded the file. Or if OE doesn't know, it will be blank. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "dwolf" wrote in message ... Figured something out...
