CREATE GROUP CONTACTS LIST
I want to create a Group Contacts list in Outlook Express.
I have 12 email addresses, each in separate cells, in an Excel spreadsheet. Does anyone know the quickest way to create a Group Contacts list with this information. Many thanks |
CREATE GROUP CONTACTS LIST
With that few, I would just copy and paste individual e-mail addresses
into the group. You can save the Excel as a CSV (Comma Separated Values) text file and import that. To see the format that OE expects, export your current address book into CSV format. You can't control where OE imports. It always imports into the main address book. So if you did the import, it would be best to import into a new empty address book, then you'd still have to copy/paste that into your group. CREATE GROUP CONTACTS LIST
Export the Excel spreadsheet, after formatting it in this manner (each field
is delimited using a comma): First Name,Last Name,Middle Name,Name,Nickname,E-mail Address,Home Street,Home City,Home Postal Code,Home State,Home Country/Region,Home Phone,Home Fax,Mobile Phone,Personal Web Page,Business Street,Business City,Business Postal Code,Business State,Business Country/Region,Business Web Page,Business Phone,Business Fax,Pager,Company,Job Title,Department,Office Location,Notes You can then import that info into your existing WAB file or create a "standalone" wab file as many users do, following the ideas in this link: http://www.insideoe.com/files/wab.htm#wabexe -- Jim Pickering, MVP/Windows Mail applications Please reply ONLY to newsgroup.
