Installing IE7 caused error "Outlook Express has encountered a problem and needs to close..."
 

Hello Everyone,

I use WinXP Pro and just installed IE7. Everything seems to work fine in
Outlook Express but I've noticed I can't create a new email. When I click
on "Create Mail" I get the following error message:

"Outlook Express has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the inconvenience."...To see what data this error report contains click
here...

Error Signatu
Appname: msimn.exe
Appver: 6.0.2900.21.80
Modname: ntdll.dll
Modver: 5.1.2600.2180
Offset: 00031c6b

I then can send this error report to Microsoft and OE shuts down.

If anyone knows the solution to this issue I thank you in advance for you
assistance.

Try reviewing the info other users have had with ntdll.dll at this link:
http://groups.google.com/groups?as_q...coring=d&hl=en

Hopefully, something there may suggest a fix that works.

Installing IE7 caused error "Outlook Express has encountered a problem and needs to close..."
 

You also need to visit windows Updates. You are not fully patched and at
least one of the patches you have not downloaded is specifically for Outlook
express.

Was OE running when you installed IE7?
