Try rebooting. If that doesn't work then try a scandisk and a defrag.

I received a message that had been forwarded several times. The kind that
you have to keep clicking on the attachment to open.
Then I saved it to my desk top. Now I can't remove it from the desk top.
I
get a message that reads,

Error Deleting File or Folder
Cannot delete file: cannot read from the source file or disk.
When I click on the file and select properties, it shows the size is 0 and
size on disk is also 0.

How can I remove it from my desk top?

I have tried rebooting and defrag. Scandisk isn't an option so I ran
chkdsk. I have also ran ad-aware and spybot. I have tried killbox and
hijack, it didn't show up in either of those programs.
The thing is still sitting on my desktop. I am unable to rename it, delete
it or move it into a folder. I get the same error message each time.
I appreciate your time.
Thanks

Try opening the Desktop in WinExplorer so you see what's on it and then see
if you can delete it. If not, then go to Start | Run and type msconfig and
disable all startup items and non-MS services and then reboot and see if you
can delete it.

Try rebooting in Safe Mode (use F8 key while starting up to bring up the
Safe Mode menu choice) and again try using Windows Explorer (WinKey+E) to
open the Desktop and try deleting it from within Explorer by right clicking
it, and selecting Delete.

I tried that also. I get the very same error message. I even tried to make
it a hidden file so I wouldn't have to look at it, it won't let me do
anything with it. I may just have to live with it.
Thanks for your help
