We recently installed the new IE7 and since then have had problems when
printing email from OE6. The headers are missing most of the time. Can't seem to find a way to make them print. I've already called IE7 support and they could not help saying it has to be an issue with OE6. However, this problem has never happened before until using the new IE7. I know we can uninstall IE but we prefer to keep using it if possible. Is there anyone who has found a fix for this issue? Which headers? Headers are not printed with a message unless you copy/paste
the info from a window that appears when you highlight the message and press Ctrl+F3 (or click the appropriate button if using OETool). -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/pr...8-1171988A62D6 Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped. I am referring to the email information that is usually printed along the
top section. It contains the From, To, Sent, Subject, data. This is critical information for our company when receiving and printing emails. Outlook Express uses the print engine of Internet Explorer, so I'd open IE,
click File/Page Setup and see if any user has changed the settings for printing there. If no help then try the following: Try creating a new identity in Outlook Express, switch to it, and set up an email account or just drag/drop a saved EML file into a mail folder and try printing from there. It's possible that there is some obscure registry corruption in your existing identity. -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Windows Mail Programs "ShannanCPC" wrote in message ... Thank You, ShannanCPC Shannon i'm having the same issues but i use Outlook 2003(SP2). i loaded IE7 recently on both my lapttop & desktop which from what i can tell they have the same set-ups, but my desktop only decided yesterday to stop printing the headers whereas my laptop is churning along OK (touch wood). things didn't start happening immediately after upgrading the IE7 either - it seemed to take a few days & i had been able to use Outlook & print with no problems between the time i loaded IE7 and yesterday - very mysterious?? i have been scouring the internet for answers & no-one seems to know how to fix it - have you had any luck? this is a legal issue for me - i ahve to be able to print the sender/reciever dat info for file. regards Suzie -- noideay ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Posted via http://www.mcse.ms ------------------------------------------------------------------------ View this thread: http://www.mcse.ms/message2543027.html |

I'm experiencing the same issues. Have narrowed it down to non-HTML
messages ... although the printing of plain text messages is also sporadic. If you do some research in the newsgroups - this issue was reported with Release Candidate 1 ... MS clearly chose to ignore the bug ! http://groups.google.com/group/micro...2c5fdae8be0cbb noideay wrote: ShannanCPC wrote: [b]I am referring to the email information that is usually printed along the top section. If you do some research in the newsgroups - this issue was reported with Release Candidate 1 ... MS clearly chose to ignore the bug ! http://groups.google.com/group/micro...2c5fdae8be0cbb There is nothing in that thread referring to RC1 and the date, combined with "just installed" suggests RTM, not RC1. If MS cannot reproduce the bug they cannot fix it. In any case, that post was after the release, so it could not possibly affect the release. I don't print messages very often, but I have been unable to reproduce the problem. If it sometimes prints properly what is different at those times. How can we reproduce the problem? -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM http://www.fjsmjs.com Answer in newsgroup. Don't send mail. |

This bug isn't rocket science. Lots of people have reported this issue
with OE6 since installing IE7 IE7 has a new printing engine. Clearly this does not function as it should with OE6. |

Okay, if the bug is so simple, tell me how to reproduce it on my machine. I have Windows XP SP2, fully patched, IE 7 RTM and Office 2003 SP2,
fully patched. When I try to print an Outlook e-mail with an attached Word document, the headers don't print. If I remove the Word attachment, then I can print the headers. I haven't tried this with OE, but I'd guess you'd see the same results. Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE wrote: wrote in message ups.com... This bug isn't rocket science.
