Problem with qwest.net newsgroup server

Is anyone having a problem with news.qwest.net servers? I can't access
them. No problems until last night. Deleted the account and set it up
again, still no newsgroups. I'm currently on the phone with Qwest and they
insist they have no server issues.

Sounds like the same problem I'm having with Bellsouth newsgroups. Their
tech support is bad. Maybe when AT&T (Whoever they are now) takes over
Bellsouth, maybe they will screw up email also.

Got my newsgroup access through the Qwest.net servers back about an hour
after I hung up from a 52 minute call to Qwest DSL Technical Support.
Coming back from a 6 or 7 minute hold, the tech finally told me that her
call to Engineering had been answered, after she had been put on hold by her
own people, and the engineers had said there "might be a server problem" and
to thank me for bringing this to their attention.

We had a chuckle over that, and decided that there was nothing we could do
about the issue and to just see if it gets fixed in a reasonable amount of
time. What is funny about this is that the Qwest tech said there was no way
she could personally check to see if the news.qwest.net server was online.
She had no newsgroup access of her own. Now doesn't that seem a bit odd
that the techs would not have full internet, email and Usenet access from
their workstations? You have to wonder about that kind of policy. I don't
know if it is true or not, I have to take her word for it.
