Default Error Messages with incoming/outgoing mail

When I try to send email to anyone it says:

The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by
the server. The rejected e-mail address was '.
Subject 'hey', Account: 'mail.clearwire.net', Server: 'mail.clearwire.net',
Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.7.1 ...
Relaying denied: You must check for new mail before sending mail.', Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

This is just one example, it happens to everyone I try to send mail to.

The Relaying denied indicates you are not connected to the same ISP as the
SMTP server that is specified. Your SMTP server has to match that to which
you are connected, or they won't let you send the mail.

Besides what Steve said, you may have more recipients than your server
allows ( a spam fighting measure). Have you checked on what their limit is?

It looks like Clearwire is using "POP-before-send" authentication. Lame.
Passé. 20th Century authentication technology. Doesn't work well with
MSOE because MSOE will attempt to send email before it executes a POP
fetch.

Using Telnet to connect to 'mail.clearwire.net':

| 220 mail815.megamailservers.com ESMTP Sendmail 8.13.6/8.13.1; Tue, 19 Sep 2006 1
| 3:41:56 -0400
| help
| 214-2.0.0 This is sendmail version 8.13.6
| 214-2.0.0 Topics:
| 214-2.0.0 HELO EHLO MAIL RCPT DATA
| 214-2.0.0 RSET NOOP QUIT HELP VRFY
| 214-2.0.0 EXPN VERB ETRN DSN AUTH
| 214-2.0.0 STARTTLS
| 214-2.0.0 For more info use "HELP topic".
| 214-2.0.0 To report bugs in the implementation send email to
| 214-2.0.0 .
| 214-2.0.0 For local information send email to Postmaster at your site.
| 214 2.0.0 End of HELP info
| 221 2.0.0 mail815.megamailservers.com closing connection

Okay. The error message suggests that they want you to use
"POP-before-send" to authenticate to the server. MSOE likes to try to
send before receiving (POP fetch) email. Based on the "Help" list above,
try this first:

Toosl | Accounts | Mail and select your mail account
('mail.clearwire.net'), and click on the "Properties" button.

Select the "Servers" tab. Down where it says, "Outgoing Mail Server",
put a check in the "My server requires authentication" box. That should
be enough. Now try it.

Report back. There may be one more easy step that needs to be done. The
alternative will be pretty ugly.

He would have fixed that problem by doing what the error message says:

"You must check for new mail before sending mail".

If you are having problems sending, you need to the post the full text
of the error message that YOU are getting. The fix for your problem
won't necessarily be the same as someone else. It depends on the exact
problem.
