I would like Outlook to be my default e-mail client in our Exchange
environment. But, I still want to use Outlook Express to download my personal e-mail from my sbcglobal.net mail server (I know I can not send mail out through the server). I can not figure out a way to open OE6 unless I make OE6 my default e-mail client in Windows XP. My idea is to make Outlook my default e-mail client and put an OE6 shortcut in my taskbar or on the desktop. BUT, I can’t find the OE6 program application file to do this. Will someone please let me know if this is possible? Thank you very much. I thought this would be simple! nathan |

Creat a shortcut to the executable file for Outlook Express (msimn.exe)
which is usually located in "C:\Program Files\Outlook Express" folder and save it on your Desktop. To open Outlook Express, just click on the shortcut. -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/pr...8-1171988A62D6 Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped. What operating system are you using (Windows version)? Have you tried a
file search for it? Click Start/Search and enter "msimn.exe" in the box w/o the quotes and it should return the file path to the executable. No, it sounds like your IT people have used a custom setup file when the
machine was initially setup and intentionally removed Outlook Express. Many do this since they don't want their workers to be browsing newsgroups during working hours. I'd ask them, since they'd be the best source of information about it. Good luck. -- Jim Pickering MVP-Outlook Express/Windows Mail Please reply to newsgroup only so that others may be helped with your feedback. "nathansford" wrote in message ... It's XP SP2. It may be on a networked server. I really have no idea but I suspect your IT
