Default Hyperlink behavior -- opening IE window from OE6

Hey smart peoples: Can one of y'all advise me whether I can set OE6 (on an
permanent "preference" kinda basis) to open a NEW window in IE rather than
usurping an already open IE window (whichever window most recently had
focus--which, in most cases I want to keep at the location where i last had
it)?

This is just an annoyance, but godDAMN it's an annoying annoyance.

Thanks for any help.

Three things you can try, y'all. Reboot and test after each one.

1: In IE | Tools | Internet Options | Advanced - Uncheck: Reuse windows when
launching shortcuts.

2: Make sure the settings here match:

From:
http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm

Open Windows Explorer.
Go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types.
Scroll down to URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol (NOT URL:Internet Shortcut)
and select it.
Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version.
Select 'open'.
Click Edit.

"Application used to perform this action" should read:

"C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" -nohome
(Check the path to iexplore.exe to make sure that is correct and use the
double quotes.)

DDE should be checked and in the boxes below it you should have:

#1:
"%1",,-1,0,,,,
#2
IExplore
#3 (blank)

#4
WWW_OpenURL

URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy should be the same.

Sometimes it is necessary to uncheck Use DDE.

3: Also in Folder Options | File Types, scroll down to {NONE} Internet
Shortcut. Select Open then Edit and uncheck Use DDE.
