Hello,
I am using OE6 from XP Home SP2. I have some folders, subfolders and message rules set up. I have not changed added to or deleted any of those in the last two weeks. For some reason lately (the last week), every time I get a message that goes to one folder via a rule I have, the folder tree expands for a different folder, even though nothing gets moved there. What's up with that? -- Regards, Bob Brannon |

Sounds like something may be buggy in the store and / or registry. Make a
backup and then do a File | Folder | Compact all. See if that fixes it. See here for backup info: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#6 steve "BBran" wrote in message ... I did already try the compact all, but the problem persists. I just discovered that the problem is not related to message rules but somehow to the folders. Anytime I open the folder containing the subfolder in question, that subfolder opens expanded even though there are no unread messages in it.
Any suggestions? "Steve Cochran" wrote in message ... Sounds like something may be buggy in the store and / or registry. Make a backup and then do a File | Folder | Compact all. See if that fixes it. Try creating another folder at the same level of the tree or another similar
type tree. See if that works without the expansion. If it does, then try creating a new folder in the same level of that tree and then move the messages from the old folder to it and then delete the old folder. Otherwise, try another Identity and see if that works okay in that Identity. steve "BBran" wrote in message ... I did already try the compact all, but the problem persists. I just tried that (unchecking the box) and the folder in question still expands.

I have no other identities to try though I could create one, that just seems more trouble though.
None of the other folders at the same level expand like the one in question. "Steve Cochran" wrote in message ... Did you collaspe it back before shutting down and restarting OE?
If it's open when OE is closed, it will be open when you restart. If it's closed when OE is closed, it will be closed when you restart. "BBran" wrote in message ...
